I accidently began drinking alcohol as a way to cope with the cold weather in London. Since then, I have not only been drinking alcohol, but also learning about it. I also always maintained a personal group of friends (my wife included) with whom I would share my drinks. This way, I ensured that I am in control of my alcohol consumption and do not succumb to alcoholism.
However, not everyone is able to maintain a healthy relationship with alcohol. According to research on the causes and reasons for alcohol consumption, there are two main motives:
- using alcohol as a coping mechanism for stress and
- drinking due to social influences.
Both of these hypotheses have some support, but if you stray from the original reason for your drinking, you may risk becoming an alcoholic.
I understand how challenging it can be to quit alcohol if you are addicted and start on the path to sobriety. Often, people do not want to disclose their addiction to others or do not receive support from close family members. Many individuals struggling with alcohol addiction find it helpful to read blogs about alcoholism because they can easily relate to the experiences and struggles described by the blogger. These blogs can provide the extra support and guidance needed during the recovery process. Here are some of the good blogs you may find useful.

My own way to handle the drink, you may not find it useful.
- I take the time to understand the drink I am consuming. Learn about its production process and ingredients.
- I only drink what I love. If my brand or similar quality brand is not available in the pub, I will enjoy pinapple juice or plain water. In short, maintain the quality.
- I only drink with close friends, particularly my wife, which helps me maintain control.
- I enjoy drinking with intellectual friends and engaging in discussions about books, business, and philosophy. I avoid discussing politics, cricket, or gossip while drinking.
- I don’t drink in week days or office hours, especially if I am going to meet professional person.
- I drink only maximum twice in 30 days, and I have strictly maintained it.
- I drink maximum 120 ml or 3 glasses in one sitting. This is my limit.
- I can’t drive and I don’t even have driving license.
- Instead I got my drinking license.
- I don’t drink when small kids are around.
- I strongly support the prohibition of alcohol consumption in public places.
I hope that you don’t need to rely on these websites to achieve sobriety and that you can enjoy alcohol in moderation for the rest of your life. Cheers.
