I spend a lot of time observing nature, trees, and birds whenever I travel to my hometown in Konkan. I am very passionate about nature in Konkan due to its scenic beauty, rich biodiversity, and cultural significance. The Western Ghats mountain range, which runs through the region, is one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots and home to many rare and endangered species. The region’s diverse habitats, such as mangroves, forests, wetlands, and beaches, provide suitable breeding, feeding, and nesting grounds for many bird species like Kingfishers, Egrets and herons, Seabirds, Raptors and Waders. Konkan is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with a variety of habitats and bird species to explore. Birdwatchers can experience the region’s rich avian diversity by exploring its wetlands, forests, hills, and beaches, making it an ideal destination for bird enthusiasts.
The Big Year, the movie revolves around the competitive birdwatching event, which may not be familiar or interesting to everyone. The filmmakers have done an excellent job of capturing the beauty of the natural world and the thrill of birdwatching. The scenes featuring different bird species are fascinating, and the film also provides interesting facts and information about each bird.

Stu, Brad, and Kenny are very different people with contrasting personalities and backgrounds, but they share a common passion for birdwatching.
